Gas prices in the U.S. rise up 41 cents per gallon

(NBC, KYMA) - Gas prices in the United States shot up by 41 cents per gallon over the past two weeks.

The national average price of regular grade now sits at nearly $4.53 per gallon, according to AAA.

That is $1.53 higher that prices before the start of the Iran war on February 28, and $1.33 more than what the price was one year ago.

According to the Lundberg Survey, wholesale gas prices greatly exceeded.

Price hikes at the pump, decimating business margins for stations and independent distributors and leading to raised prices.

Low stocks, refinery curtailments and upward seasonal demand are also causing prices to go up.
