Timothee Chalamet attends Knicks game over Met Gala

NEW YORK (CBS, KYMA) - Timothee Chalamet proved himself a loyal Knicks fan as he opted to watch his team play at Madison Square Garden rather than attend the Met Gala Monday.

Rebecca Chasen recorded the moment Chalamet appeared on the big screen at a playoff game between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.

Monday night wasn't just a big deal for Knicks fans as further uptown the Met Gala saw celebrities don their best attire, including Chalamet's girlfriend Kylie Jenner.

For weeks ahead of the gala, activists plastered the city with calls to boycott the event, which was co-chaired by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, although it was not known if the campaign had any impact of Chalamet's desire to attend.
