Sony to pay more than $7.8 million in PlayStation Store settlement

(NBC, KYMA) - If anyone recently bought a game on the PlayStation Store, they could be eligible for a refund.

Sony agreed to a $7.85 million settlement after being accused of monopolizing the market and charging more for digital games.

Anyone who bought certain games from April 2019 to December 2023 is eligible without having to do anything.

Sony did not admit any wrongdoing while agreeing to the settlement.

It's too early to know when or how much money will be paid out before the October court hearing.
