Warm, breezy weekend ahead before early-week cooldown

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - If you're stepping out in Yuma, expect mostly clear skies with a breezy finish to the day.

Overnight lows will dip to around 61 degrees, but gusty winds, up to 30 miles per hour at times, will keep things from feeling completely calm.

Friday brings a quick return to the heat, with sunny skies and a high near 96. Winds stay fairly light, making for a quieter end to the workweek. Clear conditions continue into Friday night with temperatures settling into the low 60s.

By Saturday, temperatures climb even higher, topping out near 98 degrees under full sunshine. A light breeze develops through the day, and by Saturday night, a few clouds move in with lows in the upper 60s.

Sunday stays warm but turns a bit more active. Highs hover in the mid-90s with breezy southwest winds picking up through the afternoon.

Gusts could reach around 25 miles per hour, continuing into Sunday night as temperatures fall into the mid-60s.

A noticeable shift arrives Monday, as stronger onshore flow brings cooler air into the region. Highs drop into the low 80s with continued breezy conditions.

Overnight lows fall into the upper 50s, marking the coolest stretch of the forecast.

That cooler trend sticks around through Tuesday with highs in the low 80s and gusty winds still in play. By midweek, temperatures begin to rebound, returning to the upper 80s Wednesday and nearing the upper 90s again by Thursday.

Overall, it's a warm and mostly sunny stretch ahead, with periods of gusty winds and a brief cooldown early next week before the desert heat builds right back in.
