Two K-9 bloodhounds find missing California woman

RUNNING SPRINGS, Calif. (CNN, KYMA) - Two bloodhounds are credited with saving a woman's life in San Bernardino County, California.

Authorities started looking for a 49-year-old woman with a traumatic brain injury last weekend after her family said she didn't come back from a walk.

They spent several hours searching for her, coming up empty, so they turned to man's best friend.

They gave the pair of bloodhounds a scent from the woman's pillow. K-9 Naji first tracked a scent, then K-9 Keva led deputies down a horse trail.

About a half mile out, a deputy heard the woman calling out for help.

They found her in dense brush, unable to walk, after having fallen 200 feet down a ravine, prompting authorities to airlift her to safety.

The two dogs have a total of 60 successful finds between them.
