Former Alameda County D.A. holds press conference on Eric Swalwell

HAYWARD, Calif. (KYMA, NBC) - Former Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price is holding a press conference Wednesday.

According to a press release obtained by NBC News, this is to announce a "significant development" concerning potential victims of former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) in Alameda County.

"Survivors should not have to wait for justice," said Price. "Today, we are taking action to ensure their voices are heard and that accountability begins now."

During the press conference, Price is also announcing the launch of a survivors hotline which will "provide immediate support and a reporting pathway for individuals who may have been impacted."

In addition, Price will also issue a call to action and urge the current Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson to launch an investigation into former Rep. Swalwell without delay.

Earlier this month, Swalwell resigned from Congress and suspended his run for governor of California amid sexual misconduct allegations.
