Over $1M worth of cocaine found from trusted traveler at San Ysidro Port of Entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection

SAN DIEGO (KYMA) - A trusted traveler was arrested following a drug bust, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

CBP says officers stopped at 25-year-old in a Honda Civic that was attempting to cross into the U.S.

He was referred to secondary inspection when a CBP canine team investigated the car further.

20 packages containing 60 pounds of cocaine were found within the car doors.

"This arrest is a clear message that no one is above the law," said San Ysidro Port Director Mariza Marin. "We will hold everyone accountable for their actions especially those who betray the trust of our traveler programs by attempting to smuggle dangerous narcotics."
