Cloudy and cooler start to the week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A cooler and breezy start to the week across Yuma County and Imperial County, but a noticeable warm-up is already on the way.

Monday brings a mix of clouds and sunshine with gusty afternoon winds, keeping highs in the mid-70s across both regions. There's even a slight chance of a stray shower in Imperial County, though most areas stay dry.

By Tuesday, conditions quickly turn more typical for April in the desert, clear skies and temperatures climbing into the low 80s.

That warming trend continues through midweek, with highs pushing into the upper 80s by Wednesday and Thursday.

Wind becomes a factor again late in the week, especially Friday, when breezy conditions return and temperatures briefly dip back near 80 degrees.

Heading into the weekend, the desert heat ramps up. Highs surge back into the upper 80s Saturday and could reach the low to mid-90s by Sunday, marking the warmest stretch so far this season.

Overall, dry conditions dominate with a steady transition from mild and breezy to hot and sunny by the weekend.
