Human skull found on Easter Sunday in Southern California

LONG BEACH, Calif. (NBC, KYMA) - A human skull was found near a walking trail in a Southern California park Easter Sunday.

The discovery was made at about 5 p.m. in DeForest Park and Wetlands in Long Beach.

People in the area said many families with young children held Easter Egg Hunts in the park earlier in the day.

Police say the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting with the investigation.
