Troopers in Minnesota respond to crashes on slippery roads

BARNESVILLE, Minn. (CBS, KYMA) - Troopers responded to several crashes in western Minnesota Thursday as a new round of snowfall caused slippery conditions on roads.

Footage released by Sgt. Jesse Grabow, the Public Information Officer for the Northwestern, West Central and Central Minnesota State Patrol, shows a vehicle that had veered off I-94 near Barnesville and crashed.

"Roads are slippery and a number of motorists are driving too fast on obvious poor conditions," Grabow wrote to X. "A reminder to slow down, pay attention and buckle up."

The officer reported that no one was injured in the crash.

About two and a half hours earlier, Grabow said troopers were responding to several incidents involving semi-trucks on the same road "and throughout the region."

More snow showers were expected in the region through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
