General Motors unveils 2027 Corvette Grand Sport

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (NBC, KYMA) - General Motors unveiled the 2027 Grand Sport, the true "purist" Corvette, in Bowling Green, Kentucky Friday.

The Grand Sport is the sixth model in the eighth generation Corvette lineup, and features a brand new 6.7 liter V8 engine.

All six models are on display, with the Grand Sport being front and center.

Building in Bowling Green for 45 years, the Corvette continues to showcase local pride and reach car enthusiasts around the world.

"The team here is spectacular. So, you know, anywhere you go and you see a Corvette, I have so much pride for the community and for the team here for putting those cars on the road, but also sending that joy into the world. Right. Because when you start up one of the cars and and this LS6 engine in the new grand sport, when you start it up, it has an iconic sound. That sound will catch attention of everybody in the parking lot and they will turn their heads and smile. I guarantee it."

The 2027 Grand Sport is currently in the test driving stage and will be available for purchase this summer.
