12th annual Sarah Harman 3v3 Basketball Tournament

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - More than 200 basketball players, ranging from youth to adults, gathered at Christ Lutheran Church for a meaningful community event that combined competition with a charitable cause.

The church recently hosted the 12th annual Sarah Harman Memorial 3v3 Basketball Tournament, an event dedicated to honoring Sarah Harman while raising funds for the Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition. The tournament brought together players, families and spectators, creating a lively atmosphere in the gymnasium as teams competed throughout the day.

Participants filled the courts while community members packed the stands to cheer them on, contributing to a strong turnout for the annual event.

According to Pastor Vince Harman, Sarah’s father, the tournament began as a way for the family to give back to the community after her passing.

“Our daughter passed away in 2013, and our family just wanted to do something to give back,” Harman said. “Our daughter loved basketball.”

With hundreds of players participating and many more attending as spectators, the event once again demonstrated how sports can unite a community for a meaningful cause.
