California congressman provides updates on Epstein investigation

LONG BEACH, Calif. (KYMA, NBC) - Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) is holding a press conference in Long Beach, California Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release, Rep. Garcia will provide updates regarding "the latest developments and upcoming depositions related to the Epstein investigation."

This comes after a subpoena was issued to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi over, according to the press release, "her failure to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee subpoena."

During the press conference, the congressman will also present more than $2.9 million in federal funding for community projects in Long Beach, which will support public safety, education, parks, recreational spaces, and more.

In addition to Garcia, the following city lawmakers will also be present during the press conference:

  • Rex Richardson, Mayor of Long Beach
  • Mary Zendejas, Long Beach Councilwoman
  • Cindy Allen, Long Beach Councilwoman
  • Kristina Duggan, Long Beach Councilwoman
  • Roberto Uranga, Long Beach Councilman
