Dog abandoned at Las Vegas airport finds new home

LAS VEGAS (CBS, KYMA) - A dog has found its new forever home just weeks after it was abandoned at Las Vegas's Harry Reid International Airport, with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) recently releasing footage of his adoption.

The two-year-old goldendoodle, now known as JetBlue, was abandoned by a woman at the airline's counter on February 2 as she hadn't failed to complete the documentation required to travel with the dog as a service animal.

Police released footage showing the moment she left dog at the Jet Blue counter.

The woman was subsequently arrested for resisting and animal abandonment after she proceeded to her departure gate without the dog.

Police said the adopting family had been approved months earlier while searching for a goldendoodle of their own.

"What began as a heartbreaking act of abandonment has turned into a powerful example of compassion, teamwork, and community partnership," LVMPD said.
