Attorney from Milwaukee doubles reward in Nancy Guthrie case
(NBC, KYMA) - A Milwaukee attorney is stepping up in the search for answers in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, putting up a significant reward of his own money.
Michael Hupy, President of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, is offering an additional $100,000 for information that leads to the arrest of whoever kidnapped Guthrie.
That reward comes on top of an existing $100,000 reward offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Investigators say more than 18,000 tips have already been submitted to the FBI in the case.
Hupy says he has personally sent the reward money to Pima County Crime Stoppers and emphasizes that anyone with a valid tip can remain anonymous while still collecting the reward.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
On Tuesday, the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) said while the DNA on the glove found two miles from Guthrie's home did not match any DNA in the national databank, nor did it match the DNA taken from her property, the DNA could be the suspect's, and they are still pursuing other leads.
