Heavy rain floods neighborhood in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBS, KYMA) - A flash flood warning was in effect for Los Angeles as storms dropped widespread precipitation across California Monday.

The National Weather Service said it "expected and observed" between 0.5 and 0.75 inch of rainfall in just 15 minutes on Monday morning for much of central and southern Los Angeles County.

Life-threatening flash flood was expected, bringing significant rock slides, mud slides, and debris flows, the weather service warned.

Footage taken by Steve Manak shows flash flooding in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles Monday.
