YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The middle day of the 81st Annual Yuma Silver Spur Rodeo delivered plenty of action, along with a wave of confidence from competitors eager to make their mark. From bull riders to team ropers, athletes prepared both physically and mentally for another thrilling night in the arena.
“Kind of to be like a killer, it’s a fist fight, a knife fight the whole time for about 15 seconds, and then after that it’s just back to doing what I do and on to the next rodeo,” bull rider Braunson Sims said.
University of Arizona men's basketball fell once again after starting 23-0. This time it was Texas Tech doing the work and coming out with a 78-75 win.
Yuma Catholic boys soccer defeated Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in the quarterfinals 5-3. They now advance to take on Benjamin Franklin out of Queen's Creek.
The Padres made three signings today: outfielder Nick Castellanos, starting pitcher German Marquez and pitcher Griffin Canning
