Yuma Catholic boys claims region title with win over ALA West Foothills

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Catholic left no doubt on the court, rolling past ALA West Foothills 77–50 to secure the region championship.

The Shamrocks controlled the pace early and never let up, building a comfortable lead behind a balanced offensive attack and strong work on the glass.

Santiago Vazquez Lima led all scorers with 26 points and nine rebounds, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Darwin Welsh added 15 points, while Noe Zamudio filled the stat sheet with 10 points and nine assists, keeping the offense flowing throughout the night.

Yuma Catholic also got scoring contributions from Austin Obika (9 points) and Max Orozco (8 points) as the Shamrocks pulled away in the second half.

The win caps off a strong region run for Yuma Catholic and sends the Shamrocks into the postseason with momentum after locking up the championship.
