Rams sign Sean McVay, Les Snead to multi-year contract extensions

LOS ANGELES (KYMA) - The Los Angeles Rams are committing to stability at the top.

The team announced Monday that head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead have signed multi-year contract extensions, keeping one of the NFL's most successful coach-general manager pairings together for the foreseeable future.

McVay and Snead previously signed extensions in 2022 that kept them under contract through the 2026 season. The Rams did not disclose the specific length or financial terms of the new deals.

Since McVay was hired in 2017 as one of the youngest head coaches in NFL history, the Rams have been one of the league's most consistent contenders.

Los Angeles finished the 2025 season with a 12-5 record, advanced through the playoffs, and reached the NFC Championship Game before falling to the Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks.

McVay, who turned 40 last week, owns a 92-57 regular-season record, good for a .617 winning percentage.

Under his leadership, the Rams have reached the postseason seven times in nine seasons, compiling a 10-6 playoff record with two Super Bowl appearances.

The franchise captured its first championship in Los Angeles with a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI to close the 2021 season.

Snead, who has served as the Rams' general manager since 2012, has worked alongside McVay throughout the coach's tenure, helping shape a roster that has remained competitive through multiple roster transitions.

"It means a lot," McVay said Monday. "I'm just really grateful. I'm grateful for our players and our coaches because these opportunities don't present themselves if you're not around great people."

"It's ownership, it's other guys in the leadership group, it's players, it's coaches...and they deserve a ton of credit. I'm excited to be able to continue to build with them moving forward."

With McVay and Snead locked in long term, the Rams are signaling continuity as they look ahead to the 2026 season and beyond.
