NYC’s famous turkey explores snowy streets

NEW YORK (CBS, KYMA) - A beloved wild turkey in New York City named Astoria was seen exploring the snowy streets around Battery Park as a winter storm blanketed the five boroughs Sunday.

The video was captured by Stella Hamilton, who said the city's "brave Turkey Princess Astoria spent the whole day" around Manhattan's State Street near the South Ferry subway station but decided to walk back to the park around 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

"Finally at 5:13 pm, Astoria flew up to her tree east of the carousel," Hamilton wrote.

Astoria rose to fame after she first appeared in Queens in 2024.
