Cool start to the week with warmer days ahead

Tracking slightly cooler than normal temperatures to start the week with lingering clouds. Temperatures will gradually warm through the week.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Happy Monday, we have highs in the upper 60s today, which is slightly cooler than normal.

Clouds will be lingering around, but it will remain nice and dry. Heading into the evening we will have chillier temperatures.

Overnight lows will be pretty chilly with lows dipping into the low and mid-40s by Tuesday morning. Make sure to bundle up and remember the 4 P's: People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes.

While the majority of the United States is having extremely cold weather, we will be warming up as a ridge of high pressure moves in this week.

We will continue to have partly to mostly cloudy skies through the first half of the week, and occasionally be breezy at times.

Tracking clearer skies and warmer temperatures later this week and by the weekend. Daytime highs will be warming near or at the 80-degree mark.

On our temperature outlook, we are now starting to see dark red and maroon colors covering this side of the country, and that means well-above-normal temperatures for the next 6-10 days.
