Snow accumulates as winter storm slams Jersey Shore

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBS, KYMA) - Snow started falling early along parts of the Jersey Shore Sunday as a major winter storm hit over a dozen U.S. states.

Footage filmed by X user @HurricaneForce1 shows steady snow falling in Toms River at 4:45 a.m. Eastern, and then the accumulation of snow on the ground at 8:00 a.m. Eastern.

He estimated two-inches of snow had accumulated by mid-morning.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the area, noting that total snow and sleet accumulations would reach between six and 10 inches.
