Sen. Mark Kelly hosts conversation on rising healthcare costs and affordability

PHOENIX (KYMA) - Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) hosted a conversation with Arizona families and small businesses Tuesday.
According to a press release, this was in regards to hear how rising healthcare costs are affecting "household budgets, coverage decisions, and the ability of local employers to hire and retain workers."
At the start of the new year, the press release says the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits expired "after Republicans blocked efforts to extend them."

The press release says this drove up premiums, priced many families out of coverage and made it difficult for small businesses to offer and maintain health insurance for their employees.
The press release also says Sen. Kelly sent a letter to both President Donald Trump and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., urging them to lower the costs and protect access to affordable healthcare.
