Higher temperatures continue, nice weekend weather

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The temperatures continue to trend higher than the average in the Desert Southwest, but hopefully that is not stopping anyone from enjoying the long weekend.

The heat should not be too intense with most of the region topping out in the mid-to-high 70s both Saturday and Sunday.

Lows will take a steep drop into the mid-40s, which is normal for the mid-January window.

Wind should not hinder any weekend plans, as Yuma County will see gusts no higher than 15mph, while the Imperial Valley will barely reach into the double digits.

For all those that have work off on Monday, enjoy the long weekend! For all of those that are past the days of the 9-to-5, this is nothing new.

To all the folks who are clocking into work and can't enjoy the long weekend, but at least there's going to be beautiful weather!
