AZ Superintendent of Public Instruction makes statement on transgender sports case

Arizona Department of Education

PHOENIX (KYMA) - Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne made a statement following Tuesday morning's U.S. Supreme Court arguments.

The U.S. Supreme Court made oral arguments about transgendered athletes participating in girls' sports.

Superintendent Horne released a statement saying, "I watched today's arguments, and I was struck by the terrible irony that the three liberal female justices made statements that clearly show their hostility toward women's sports."

Superintendent Horne is defending a lawsuit challenging Arizona's law that prohibits biological boys from participating on a girls' team, according to the Arizona Department of Education.
