Preparations underway for 83rd Annual Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES (CBS, KYMA) - Preparations are underway for the 83rd Annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles.

Comedian Nikki Glaser helped roll out the red carpet for the annual event as she's hosting for the second year in a row.

"I'm just a fan, so it's easy for me to be like 'I can't believe it.' So, it's the hardest gig, but it's also the best gig," Glaser expressed.

Glenn Weiss, executive producer and director, calls the award show the "party of the year."

"Because everybody is here. The drinks are flowing. You're mingling...We're here to capture all of it, so that you are a part of a party. You're not just watching an award show," Weiss shared.

Hollywood's biggest party of the year brings together a collection of the biggest stars from movies and TV to new this year, podcasts.

"One Battle After Another," an action comedy starring Leonardo DiCaprio, leads with nine nominations among movies while "The White Lotus" leads with six noms on the TV side

"I'm gonna hit all the big people in the room, the Timothees, the Arianas, Julia Roberts, George Clooney," Glaser said as she teased the jokes she'll make and avoid. "I don't wanna make jokes about their kids 'cause their kids actually might be famous some day and I need them to put me in a project. Nepo babies, you can't mess with them. Not because it's mean to make fun of kids but just because I don't want it to affect my future and my bottom line."

During the ceremony, stars will be dining on signature dishes by the famed chef behind the popular Nobu restaurants, including caviar mashed potatoes, sushi from japan, and miso black cod.

"I like to watch people eating, smiling, laughing. So that's why I like to stay here," said Nobu Matsuhisa, chef.

They'll also be sipping on Moet champagne while fellow nominees present, including Miley Cyrus and Amanda Seyfried.

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes airs Sunday, January 11, at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time on CBS, channel 13, and Paramount+.
