Caught on Camera: Pilot makes perfect emergency landing near Phoenix
Small plane sets down safely without landing gear
GOODYEAR, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Two people walk away unhurt Monday after their small plane makes an emergency landing near Phoenix. And a security camera captured the moment it got safely onto the ground.
The aircraft's landing gear malfunctioned. The pilot circled the Goodyear airport to burn off fuel before trying to set down the small plane on its belly.
Experts say the video shows a textbook example of how it's done. The pilot set the plane down surprisingly smoothly.
Emergency crews were on hand, but they weren't needed. Both the pilot and the passenger left the plane on their own. Neither got injured
