Gloomy weather caps off weekend and starts work week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The "Sunniest Place on Earth" is not living up to its name Sunday, and it's looking like that may remain the case heading into 2026.

Overcast conditions have hovered over Yuma, with the same going for the Imperial Valley. There's a chance that takes a break on Monday, but will most likely roll back in for most of the week.

Wind gusts maxed out above 20mph in most of the region and that will carry over into Monday for Yuma. The Imperial Valley will still see double-digit wind gusts. However, winds will not be as prominent as Yuma County.

Temperatures mostly stayed in the mid 60s today but tomorrow should see slightly higher temperatures. The eastern side of the Desert Southwest will hit the low 70s, but as we move towards the west, temperatures will be a couple degrees cooler.

Rain is also being tracked on Wednesday and Thursday, so make sure you are prepared for the rain for New Year's Eve.
