CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Santa Claus takes holiday plunge in the Florida Keys

KEY LARGO, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - Santa Claus took some time out from checking his list to enjoy a little scuba fun.

The Jolly Old St. Nick traded his sleigh for scuba gear, taking the plunge in his red suit beneath the warm waves of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in Key Largo Sunday.

Santa was accompanied by some elves, obviously taking a day off from toy making to enjoy swimming with schools of fish and other curious marine life.

The underwater Santa dive has been an annual tradition in the keys for 35 years, hosted by Captain Slate's Scuba Adventures.

But don't worry, Santa is already on his way back to the North Pole to get ready for his busy Christmas Eve rush.
