Costco sues Trump Administration over tariffs

(NBC, KYMA) - Costco Wholesale has filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over tariffs.

The retail giant is the latest company to file a lawsuit against a federal agency over President Donald Trump's signature economic policy.

In the lawsuit, which was filed Friday, Costco says it is seeking a "full refund" all tariffs collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), a result of President Trump's executive order which imposed what he called "reciprocal tariffs."

The legality of Trump's sweeping tariff agenda is currently under review by the Supreme Court.

Costco does not say in the filing exactly how much the company has paid in tariffs, but a total of nearly $90 billion has been paid by importers under the IEEPA Law, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data through late September.
