Kennedy Center Honors unveils new medallion

(CBS, KYMA) - The Kennedy Center Honors has unveiled a new medallion ahead of an upcoming ceremony.

The Gold Award, designed by Tiffany and Company, features the Kennedy Center and rainbow colors representing the arts.

It hangs from a navy blue ribbon, with the center saying the color is associated with dignity and tradition. It replaces the multi-colored ribbon that has long been part of the award.

This Sunday, George Strait, Michael Crawford, Gloria Gaynor, Sylvester Stallone, and the members of KISS will receive the new medallions at the annual celebration in Washington, D.C.

You can watch the 48th Annual Kennedy Center Honors on December 23 on CBS, channel 13, and streaming on Paramount+.
