Gas prices up by four cents as Thanksgiving holiday approaches

(NBC, KYMA) - Millions of Americans will be hitting the road this week for the busy Thanksgiving holiday.

Those drivers can expect gas prices to be on the increase, but fairly consistent with what we saw a year ago during the same time period.

The average price for a gallon of regular grade gasoline is currently clocking in at about $3.16 a gallon. That's an increase of four cents in the past two weeks. However, the good news is that it's 11 cents lower than it was just a month ago.

Analysts say pump prices could decline in the coming weeks due to refineries being back to almost full capacity after seasonal maintenance.
