Unsettled weather pattern bringing more rain and cooler temperatures

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - A slow-moving storm system continues to bring occasional showers across Yuma and Imperial Counties, and more wet weather is expected over the next few days.

Light rain has already moved through parts of the region, and while totals so far have stayed on the lower end, passing showers will remain possible through Wednesday night.

Temperatures are running well below normal for this time of year. Highs on Wednesday will sit in the low-to-mid 60s across both counties, with overnight lows dropping into the 50s.

Another system is set to move in on Friday, and this one is expected to have a bigger impact west of Yuma. Imperial County especially western portions could see a fairly rainy day with projected totals up to three-quarters of an inch. The Yuma area may see lighter amounts, generally around a quarter to a half inch.

Showers may linger into the weekend, but chances look much lower for Yuma County as the system tracks farther south into northern Mexico.

Cooler-than-normal temperatures are expected to continue through the weekend.
