Rev. Jesse Jackson’s family clarifies current medical condition

(NBC, KYMA) - The family of of Rev. Jesse Jackson released a statement Sunday clarifying his current medical condition.

The statement comes after inaccurate media reports circulated about Rev. Jackson's condition.

Previous reports incorrectly stated Jackson was on life support, but his family wanted to clarify by saying Jackson is in stable condition and breathing on his own without the assistance of machines.

Jackson continues to manage progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) under the care of physicians.

Jackson's family said they are grateful for the medical team treating the reverend at the hospital while also extending their "heartfelt appreciation for the many prayers and kind messages."
