Star installed on top of 30 Rock Christmas tree

NEW YORK CITY (NBC, KYMA) - A big moment Wednesday morning in New York City as workers installed the star on top of the iconic 30 Rock Christmas tree.

The 900-pound Swarovski crystal star was hoisted into place early Wednesday morning. It features 70-spikes and over three million crystals.

The star is only part of the elaborate light show that will turn this 11-ton, 75-foot Norway Spruce into a beacon of the holiday season.

When it's complete, the tree will also feature 50,000 multi-colored LED lights.

A lighting ceremony will be held on December 3, and you can watch on NBC and Peacock.
