Democratic leaders hold Prop 50 rally in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA) - California Governor Gavin Newsom joined Democratic leaders at a Prop 50 Get Out The Vote rally Saturday evening.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris kicked off the rally with remarks to the crowd, with Harris saying "There is work to be done" and other states need to step up come November 4.
U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) was also in attendance introducing Governor Newsom.
All three there to thank the hundreds of volunteers who attended Saturday and to celebrate their efforts to vote "Yes" to Proposition 50, a statewide measure in California that holds the balance of power in Congress redrawing district lines in the state, giving Democrats five more seats in the U.S. House.
