Man rams SUV through a TV station in North Carolina, forces his way inside

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (NBC, KYMA) - Tense moments at a TV station in North Carolina when a man rammed his SUV through the station's front gates and forced his way through the station doors, shattering glass.

It happened Friday afternoon at WXII in Winston-Salem. Station employees say they immediately took cover, barricaded themselves and called 911.

Police got to the station quickly and took the man into custody.

Investigators say the man displayed "clear signs of a mental health crisis" and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

They say this does not appear to be a targeted act against the station, and no one was hurt.
