Record-setting rainfall causes flooding in Arizona

(NBC, KYMA) - Parts of Arizona are flooding due to record-setting rainfall in and around Phoenix.

In Gold Canyon, flash flooding washed out roads Sunday.

The flood watch was triggered by a tropical surge, courtesy of former Tropical Storm Raymond.

Sunday saw nearly two-inches of rain in the area, surging past the previous daily record set in 1957 of a little under a third of an inch out of the water.

The City of Globe was also hit hard by flooding. The new flooding follows devastating flooding from just a few weeks ago, brought on by activity from Tropical Storm Priscilla.
