Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs tours flood-ravaged town of Globe
GLOBE, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA) - Governor Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) toured the small town of Globe, where devastating flash flooding last weekend killed three people.
Governor Hobbs walked through town Saturday, where crews are still working to clear debris.
"It just gives you this visual of how much damage and the impact, how long it's really going to take to recover from this. And why it's really important for us to get the assistance here as quickly as possible," Hobbs expressed.
Officials say they've recovered more than 60 vehicles and 800 propane tanks from a business that were washed away.
"We need to put all options on the table to make sure communities like this don't have this level of devastation as we see more and more severe weather events," Hobbs spoke.
Nearly 300 tons of debris have been cleared from yards, creeks and roadways.
