Planned Parenthood suspends Medicaid services
(KYMA) - Planned Parenthood announced Monday that the Trump Administration's "defund" efforts has forced it to suspend Medicaid services.
This means Arizonans insured with Medicaid will no longer be able to access basic care, such as cancer screenings, STI tests and birth control.
The suspension comes after the Trump Administration's retalitory megabill that targets Planned Parenthood health centers.
April Donovan, the Interim President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona, released a statement saying in part:
"For several decades, Planned Parenthood Arizona has been committed to ensuring patients can access quality, nonjudgmental, continual care from a trusted provider. While this administration's interference in public health and ongoing attacks against Planned Parenthood are eroding that opportunity, we are resolved to stand with our patients and continue fighting for the care our patients need."
The changes will go into effect on October 1.
