September was an overall cool month with more days BELOW normal. Also, we can’t forget about the multiple days we had rain here in Yuma this month that led to above normal rainfall. Take a look at our weather recap and stats for the month of September.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - All of September, we had more days BELOW normal for the month. Now, Yuma didn’t break any new temperature records, but Yuma did have a pretty mild month overall. The coolest daytime high was Saturday, September 27, reaching only 83 degrees, which was 15 degrees BELOW normal.

We also had multiple days where Yuma had measurable rain, which is great for us. We definitely had an active end to the monsoon season.
From the rain we did get this month helped our monthly rain numbers for the month of September. Our rain total for the month leaves us at 1.02”, and our monthly average is 0.68", so that leaves us above our monthly average by 0.34”. That is great!

Now, let’s look at where Yuma stands with our yearly rain total. Since the start of the year, so far for 2025, Yuma has accumulated 2.35", and comparing it with our 2025 yearly average, we actually should be at 2.49," which is slightly below from where we should be for the year so far.
However, with what Yuma has accumulated so far for 2025 and comparing it to our total around this same time back in 2024, we were actually at 2.21." Even though we don’t have as much rain accumulation like last year, we are only down by -0.14” from our yearly average, which isn’t bad for our area for this time of year.
