Animals at the Milwaukee County Zoo enjoy pumpkins

MILWAUKEE (CBS, KYMA) - Animals at the Milwaukee Zoo enjoyed pumpkins provided by keepers as the institution geared up for its annual "Boo at the Zoo" events.

Footage captured by the zoo shows an Amur tiger and Kunekune pigs batting at and chowing down on the gourds.

According to the zoo, on September 27, visitors can see the pigs, tigers, cranes, otters, macaques, and rhinoceros hornbills engaged in pumpkin-themed enrichment activities.

The Milwaukee County Zoo is hosting festive events for the next few weekends, culminating in Boo at the Zoo on October 17-19 and October 24-26, when visitors are encouraged to come dressed in Halloween costumes.

The Kunekune pigs in the video, which can be seen at the zoo's Family Farm, are native to New Zealand and are "friendly and loving toward people," according to its website.
