President of Mexico visits Mexicali
MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA) - Claudia Sheinbaum, President of Mexico, visited Mexicali Friday afternoon.
As part of her tour across all states of the country for her first year as president, she announced that a new university will be built next year.
She was accompanied by members of her cabinet.
The event took place at the State Auditorium, with hundreds of people in attendance, and concluded with a message for her fellow Mexicans living along the border.
"The United States would not be what it is if it weren't for the Mexican workers who work on the other side of the border. Long live Mexicali, long live Baja California, long live Mexico," President Sheinbaum expressed.
Some attendees displayed messages demanding action in the search for missing persons.
