Two dead, two injured in shooting at ICE facility in Dallas

UPDATE (11:26 AM): According to multiple senior law enforcement officials, the shooter has been identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn.

Three ICE detainees were shot when Jahn opened fire from a nearby rooftop early Wednesday morning.

One of the detainees were killed while the other two are in critical condition.

Officials say Jahn died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and no law enforcement officials were injured.

A motive has yet to be confirmed, but according to FBI Director Kash Patel's post on X, an anti-ICE message was written on at least one unused bullet found at the scene.

UPDATE (7:44 AM): Authorities in Dallas are holding a press conference Wednesday to provide updates on the shooting at the ICE facility in Dallas.

DALLAS (NBC, KYMA) - Two people are dead after a shooting at an Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas Wednesday morning.

An ICE spokesperson says a third person was also shot, and was taken to a nearby hospital.

All three of the people shot were ICE detainees, and no ICE officers were hurt.

The suspected shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

"While we don't know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop," Secretary Noem wrote in a post on X.

A motive is not clear, and officials warn this is still very early in the investigation as details continue to emerge.
