New Mexico woman rescued from flood channel
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (NBC, KYMA) - A woman was pulled to safety from a flood channel in New Mexico Saturday.
A retired Albuquerque firefighter saw the woman and alerted rescue crews of her description and location.
31 Albuquerque Fire Rescue and BCFR units were dispatched along different parts of the channel for various points of rescue.
The victim was swept away from the first two rescue locations, but crews were able to pass her a floatation device.
The woman was rescued near an overpass. Although she was alert and stable, she was taken to a nearby hospital.
