Tracking great weather with below-normal temperatures
It's been feeling fantastic! Daytime highs will trend in the mid-to-upper 90s for the rest of the week and through the weekend.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-) - DROUGHT UPDATE: Due to the wet weather we received in late August and early September, there have been some pretty big improvements to our drought conditions across the Desert Southwest.
Yuma was actually experiencing EXCEPTIONAL drought conditions for the majority of this year, and now there are no areas experiencing exceptional drought conditions within the Desert Southwest.
As of this week, about 16% of Yuma County is reading extreme drought, and compared to last week, we were at 92%, which is a 76% drop in a week. Now most areas in the Desert Southwest are under severe with small portions still under extreme.

Winds will be a lot lighter than what they were the last few evenings in Imperial County. Wind gusts could still peak up to 20-25 MPH throughout the night.

Never Forget:9/11! It was 24 years ago on this day since the 9/11 attacks. Today, we remember those who died. If you are planning to do anything this evening, we are in for clear skies, mild temperatures, and overall pleasant weather.

This current lower pressure system remains in place for this side of the country, which is the reason for slightly below-normal temperatures.

Tracking lots of sunshine and comfortable weather that will persist for the rest of the week and through the weekend as daytime highs will stay in the double-digits.
We do have more clouds, warmer temperatures, and possible moisture that will return by next week. There is about a 20% for showers starting as early as Thursday. I will continue to track and bring more details as we get closer.
