Protesters disrupt President Trump’s cabinet dinner in D.C.
WASHINGTON (CBS, KYMA) - Donald Trump was cornered by activists and likened to Adolf Hitler as he prepared to dine at a D.C. restaurant for the first time during his second term.
Footage from the feminist organization CodePink shows demonstrators chanting "Free DC" and "Free Palestine" Tuesday evening, protesting the federal takeover as well as the war in Gaza.
"Trump is the Hitler of our time," the women continued to heckle as the president made his way toward his table.
CodePink called for Trump to "stop terrorizing communities all over the world."
"Trump looked us in the eyes, [and] we made sure he will never dine in peace while communities are under siege," the group wrote in a post regarding the event.
Trump was joined by his cabinet for dinner that night to the applause of patrons, as the president praised the recent crackdowns on crime in DC.
