Tracking a cooling trend for the rest of the week

On Tuesday, we have highs in the low 100s with stronger winds toward the west and in Imperial Valley. Temperatures will begin to cool below normal starting Wednesday.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Finally, it's feeling better outside with drier conditions. Dry conditions will continue all week.

Starting Tuesday evening, there will be breezy and windy conditions that will move in toward the west, and impact the Imperial County area.

Winds will be coming from the west with gusts between 20-30 MPH, which could also bring patching blowing dust Tuesday night.

Winds will stay light and could reach around 20 MPH for us here in Yuma County.

Strongest winds will be in further west, but there is a Wind Advisory from 6 p.m. Tuesday evening until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning for the southwest corner of Imperial County. Then, it will go back into effect again 6 p.m. Wednesday until 2 a.m. Thursday.

There will be strong west winds with gusts between 40-45 MPH. Make sure to use caution if you're going that way and will be driving.

We have a lower pressure system toward our north that will bring in cooler air, leading to cooler than normal temperatures for the rest of the week.

Plenty of sunshine and dry conditions will be with us for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Temperatures will take a dip into the upper and mid-90s later this week. Take a look at our overnight lows, upper 60s by Thursday.

Temperatures will slightly warm and go back into the triple-digits next week.
