Protesters dressed as ‘Handmaids’ seen in D.C.

WASHINGTON (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Protesters dressed as "Handmaids" from Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel "The Handmaid's Tale" were spotted near the U.S. Capitol in Washington Tuesday.

Footage captured by Instagram user @obediah123 shows the demonstrators clad in white bonnets and long red capes near Union Station and then in front of the Supreme Court of the United States.

The protesters can be seen holding signs that say, "SHAME," and can be heard chanting, "Whose bodies? Our bodies!"

People took to the streets in several cities across the nation the previous day in "Workers Over Billionaires" demonstrations.
