Rapper Cardi B cleared of assault allegations in civil trial
LOS ANGELES (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Rapper Cardi B says she will countersue anyone who goes after her with a frivolous lawsuit after she was found not liable for assault in a civil case Tuesday afternoon.
She was all smiles leaving the courthouse in Los Angeles after a jury let her off the hook with a unanimous decision and only one hour of deliberation.
A former security guard was seeking $24 million in damages claiming Cardi B hit, scratched and spat on her in a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018.
Cardi B was secretly pregnant at the time and claimed the security guard tried to film her without her consent at the doctor's office.
"I'm not even playing around...even if I'm on my deathbed, I swear to God, I will say it in my deathbed. I did not touch that woman. I did not touch that girl," Cardi B expressed.
The jury ruled in Cardi B's favor on all four counts, which the defense says stemmed from what was only a heated verbal fight.
